What Are the Favourable Conditions for Growing Rice?
Temperature-
As we all know, rice is a tropical crop, and it generally
grows in an average temperature of twenty-degree centigrade to
twenty-seven-degree centigrade. In many parts of Australia, this temperature
prevails which makes it a lot easier to cultivate this particular crop.
However, with the temperature lot of sunshine is necessary for the growth of
the crop. If not all the months throughout the processing, at least four months
of continuous sunshine is required.
Rainfall-
Rice requires a lot of water than any other crop. This is
why most of the paddy cultivation requires minimal rainfall of one hundred and
fifteen centimeters. However, it may seem Australia is a dry country with
minimal rain, but then a lot of regions do get this amount of rainfall that can
produce rice in abundance. However, one should be very careful and consider the
water do not get drained out as waterlogged paddy field is ideal for growing
crop correctly. Sometimes having flooded condition could act as a boon for the
cultivation.
Soil-
Retile alluvial soil works best for growing rice. People who
are not aware of this could get into huge trouble. So make sure you do a soil
test before sowing the seeds. And for this taking expert help would be an idea.
As there are lots of people who serve such facilities, make sure to get along
to professionals only.
Fertilizer-
For paddy cultivation, three major elements are
required—potassium, phosphorus and nitrogen. However, in most of the lands,
such nutrients are available even in a smaller amount. However, with extensive
cultivation, soil fertility can reduce. For this, it is essential to increase
the richness of the soil by continuously adding fertilizer to the soil. And it
should be done under the surveillance of an expert only. If you are not an
expert, make sure to get in touch with a professional agricultural consultant
and follow the tips.
